Pea Seeds
Peas grow best in a sunny, position with well drained but rich soil. Ideally, dig and manure the area where you will sow the pea seeds the autumn before sowing, but this is not essential and if you have good soil, a thin layer of good quality compost just before sowing is will benefit. Peas don't like very hot weather, so doing this will help to improve the moisture holdinging ability of the soil if we get a hot, dry summers.
As well as being fairly easy to grow, Peas play a handy part in the crop rotation cycle. By allowing the roots to rot down after the plants have finished cropping, they will release nitrogen back into the soil, which can then be used by the crop that follows them.
