Empress of India is a compact type suitable for large containers and bedding out. A fast growing Annual, it is best sown direct into 9cm pots first before planting out once the frosts have passed as it is not hardy.
Nasturtium plants can be a magnet for Blackfly and Cabbage White Butterflies. Some gardeners use nasturtiums to attract these pests away from their vegetable crops, preferring to spray their flowers and not their veg.
