Radicchio is also known as 'Red Hearted Chicory'. It has gained popularity as a salad crop, through its use in mixed salad packs by supermarkets with its distinctive taste.

Radicchio Rossa di Verona is a red ball head type. It produces uniform round heads, and has good tolerance to bolting and tipburn. Sow from April through to August - the plants will stand throughout the winter with minimal protection.
