Red Meat Radish is a cold-hardy variety perfect for autumn sowing. With white skin tinged with green and a vibrant red interior resembling watermelon flesh, this Chinese type variety is a true standout in the garden.

The large, round radishes offer a mild, sweet flavour with less spice than traditional radishes. Ideal for raw slicing or stir-frying, they add a pop of colour to any dish.

Not suitable for spring sowing, but perfect for overwintering, this variety thrives in cooler weather.

Cultivation:

Soil and Planting:

• Soil Type: Prefers fertile, well-drained soils with a light texture.
• Sowing Period: Mid-June to mid-July.
• Planting Depth: Summer sowing: 1.5-2.0 cm, Winter sowing: 2.5-3.0 cm.
• Row Spacing: Rows should be spaced 35-40 cm apart.
• Seeding Rate: 5-6 kg/ha.
• Thinning: Once shoots appear, thin them out to leave 15-20 cm between plants for optimal growth.
